LANSING - A man wanted in connection with a double murder in Texas is in the Ingham County Jail after being arrested Thursday in Lansing.

Police in Lansing arrested a Texas man, Raymond Alvarado Jr., in connection with a double murder in San Angelo, Texas.

Raymond Alvarado Jr., 28, was arrested by the Lansing Area Fugitive Task Force after leaving an undisclosed residence in Lansing, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a news release.

He is charged in connection with the Sept. 12 shooting of two men in San Angelo, Texas, officials said.

The San Angelo Standard-Times reports that a witness to the shooting told investigators he saw three men and a woman enter a home before he "heard fighting, and eventually heard gunshots."

The victims, two 28-year-old men, later died from gunshot wounds.

Three people were arrested shortly after the shooting, and remain in jail in Texas. The other suspects identified Alvarado as an accomplice.

The Lansing-area fugitive team includes U.S. Marshals, Michigan State Police, Michigan Department of Corrections, Ingham County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State University Police Department.

The team was asked to help after investigators received a tip that Alvarado may be in Lansing, federal officials said. Task force members watched the Lansing residence for several hours before seeing Alvarado leave. He was arrested without incident.

Alvarado is charged with capital murder, officials said. He expected to be extradited back to Texas.
