Michigan football's fast start to the season remains intriguing to poll voters.

The Wolverines threw up another impressive win on Saturday, crushing Penn State 49-10 at Michigan Stadium and that kept their place at No. 5 in the Amway Coaches Poll, run by USA Today.

U-M's win sets up an undefeated, Top 10 showdown for the Wolverines (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten)  against No. 8 Wisconsin next week at Michigan Stadium (3:30 p.m., ABC/ESPN/ESPN2).

Michigan has scored 208 points in the four games, the most prolific start in the program's storied history.

The calm, poised Badgers rose after tearing apart Michigan State 30-6 in East Lansing, shutting down the MSU running game, holding the Spartans to just 75 yards on the ground.

That loss sent the Spartans (2-1, 0-1) tumbling down the polls eight spots to No. 16 in the Amway/USA Today poll as they prepare for this week's Big Ten game at Indiana (8 p.m./Big Ten Network).

The Associated Press poll will be released around 2 p.m. today.

In the Football Writers Association of America-National Football Foundation poll, Michigan remained at No. 4 but no longer has a first-place vote. Michigan State sits just out of the Top 16, the second team in receiving votes.
