Haslett man arrested in Shiawassee Co. death

WOODHULL TOWNSHIP – A 21-year-old Haslett man was arrested Saturday in the shooting death of an 81-year-old Shiawassee County man on Friday.

At around 4 p.m. Friday, the victim’s son found the victim around dead from apparent gunshot wounds at his home in southwest Woodhull Township, northeast of Haslett, Michigan State Police Lt. David Kaiser said Saturday. The victim’s vehicle also was stolen from the home in the 14000 block of Dunn Road, Kaiser said.

Police tracked the suspect to a Days Inn in Delta Township and arrested him. They also found the victim’s vehicle, Kaiser said.

Names were not released, nor was any information on a possible motive for the killing. Kaiser said the suspect is expected to be arraigned Monday in Shiawassee County.
