List of Lansing stores open, closed on Thanksgiving

LANSING - While many large retail chains in the region will be open early on Thanksgiving, there is a growing number that will be closed for the holiday.

In Lansing, 12 large retailers will be closed on Thanksgiving, starting Black Friday sales on the actual day the shopping holiday is named for.

Below is a list of retailers in the Lansing area who will be closed and open on Thanksgiving and what time their sales start.

Thanksgiving sales:

  • Starting at 7 a.m.: Dollar General, Family Dollar, Meijer
  • Starting at 8 a.m.: Gander Mountain, Radio Shack, Rite Aid, Walgreens
  • Starting at 3 p.m.: JCPenney
  • Starting at 4 p.m.: Michaels
  • Starting at 5 p.m.: Best Buy, Dunham’s Sports, Toys “R” Us, Younkers
  • Starting at 6 p.m.: Bed, Bath & Beyond, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Gordman’s, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Office Max, Sears, Target, Walmart
  • Starting at 7 p.m.: Kmart

Black Friday sales:

  • Starting at 5 a.m.: Game Stop
  • Starting at 6 a.m.: Joann Fabrics, Menards, Staples, Tractor Supply Co.
  • Starting at 7 a.m.: DSW, Petco, Sam’s Club, T.J. Maxx
  • Starting at 8 a.m.: Barnes and Noble, True Value
  • Starting at 9 a.m.: Schuler Books & Music
