Reservations now are available for three daily nonstop flights from Lansing's Capital Region International Airport to Chicago. Service launches Aug. 23.

The flights represent a "major upgrade in service," airport CEO Robert Selig said in a press release, offering Lansing-area fliers more options for connecting to other domestic and international flights out of Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

The new flights will be offered daily with departures at 6:10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 3:44 p.m. Return flights from O'Hare arrive in Lansing at 10:36 a.m., 2:16 p.m. and 11:44 p.m.

Travelers can book their flights at AA.com, FlyLansing.com and through the Fly Lansing Concierge Travel Center.

American will operate an Embraer 145 aircraft on the route with capacity to carry 50 passengers.

The service to Chicago follows American’s announcement last month that it will offer new daily nonstop service from Lansing to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) beginning July 5.
