Road work to cause detour at I-496/U.S. 127 on Sunday

LANSING -- Bridge work at the Interstate 496/U.S. 127 interchange will cause disruptions for some drivers on Sunday.

Westbound I-496 will be closed from northbound U.S. 127 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., state highway officials said. So will the ramp from Trowbridge Road to westbound I-96.

Drivers will be detoured north on U.S. 127 to Saginaw Street, Howard Street and then back to westbound I-496.

The Michigan Department of Transportation suggests drivers allow extra time if they are traveling through that area.
