ALDI to hold hiring fair Aug. 3 in Okemos

OKEMOS – ALDI will hold a hiring event for its Lansing-area stores on Aug. 3, including a store scheduled to open later this year at 5155 Marsh Rd.

The job fair will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, 2209 University Park Drive. Job opportunities include store associate, shift manager and manager trainee positions.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old to apply and have either a high school diploma or a GED. They must be able to work any time between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

The German-based grocer said in a press release that they prefer associates to have retail experience, and for manager trainees to have some management experience. Candidates must undergo a drug screening and a background check, and must be able to lift 45 pounds.

ALDI has a distribution center in Webberville, two stores in Lansing and one in Owosso.

Store associates and shift manager salaries are $11.25 per hour, with manager trainees receiving $22 per hour. Employees averaging more than 25 hours a week are eligible for full health insurance benefits and dental coverage, and all employees are invited to participate in the company 401(k) retirement savings program.
