LANSING – Four men were arrested Saturday night in Lansing after they tried selling merchandise stolen during an armed robbery in Eaton County just over an hour earlier, police said.

Lansing police were called to a resale shop in the 1700 block of Cedar Street, around 6 p.m. after being alerted that the suspects might be trying to sell some of the stolen items, said Sgt. Nick Hughett.

The Eaton County Sheriff's Department said in a news release Monday the suspects were trying to sell items stolen from DR Coins in the 4000 block of Saginaw Highway in Delta Township. The robbery was reported at about 4:45 p.m., the release said. The suspects allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded cash and merchandise before fleeing in a vehicle later found to have been reported stolen in Lansing.

Just over an hour later, officers from several area law enforcement agencies were called to set up a perimeter around the resale store. Two of the suspects were arrested at the store when all four were leaving the building. The other two ran, Hughett said, and were arrested shortly after.

The suspects were taken to the Eaton County Jail, Hughett said.
