Lansing River Trail users will soon have access to a bike repair station at Maguire Park in Lansing.

The station will include an air pump, tools and a hands-free stand for bicyclists who find themselves with a flat tire or in need of emergency repairs.

The Tri-County Bicycle Association is paying for the repair station through a DALMAC grant, with money provided by the club’s annual Dick Allen Lansing to Mackinac bike ride.

The cost of the $1600 repair station will be completely covered by the grant, said Brett Kaschinske, Lansing parks and recreation director. An additional $400 or so for the station’s concrete mounting will be covered by the city, he said.

Kaschinske said the city plans to install the repair station this coming Monday and it will be available for the public to use after that.
