Want to have a say in how Ingham County spends $21 million in tax dollars for parks and trails over the next six years?

In November 2014, voters approved a millage generating $3.5 million per year over six years to build new trails and restore funding for park maintenance.

Over the next two months, Ingham County will hold a series of public meetings to determine how residents use existing parks and trails and what improvements they’d like to see, according to a notice from the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance, which is working with Ingham County on the plan.

The feedback received during those meetings will help to determine priorities and expenditures for the Regional Trails and Parks plan, according to the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance.

Public meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates:

•Oct. 8 at Delhi Township Hall, 2074 Aurelius Road., Holt.

•Oct. 15 at Meridian Township Hall, 5151 Marsh Road., Okemos.

•Nov. 10 at East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road., East Lansing.

•Nov. 12 at Foster Community Center, 200 N. Foster St., Lansing.

•Nov. 17 at Vevay Township Hall, 780 Eden Road, Mason.

•Nov. 18 at NIESA (Northeast Ingham Emergency Services Authority), 1296 W. Grand River Ave. Williamston.
