Celebration! Cinema has kicked off a new series designed for individuals and families with special needs, including autism.

Starting on April 4, "Sensory Showtimes" will offer current films with modifications to help give a more comfortable and welcoming experience for those with special needs. A few of the changes include the volume of the presentation being lower, the auditorium lights being dimmer but still on, movies being shown in 2D with open-captioning and shows beginning at show time with limited previews. Those watching can enjoy the movies in an accepting environment, with cheering, calling out and strolling around the theatre welcome.

"Sensory Showtimes" will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays at select Celebration! Cinema locations, including Celebration! Cinema in Lansing.

The first movie set for the series is "Home" on April 4. For the full list of upcoming shows and dates, visit www.celebrationcinema.com/sensoryshowtimes.
